Sunny Lodge PV System

Rather appropriately, in July 2008, the first grid-connected PV system was installed on the roof of Sunny Lodge in Male’ (Houses in the Maldives are given names rather than house numbers. The systems of 1.8 kw produces on average 300 Kwh ( 300 units ) of electricity per month and meets about 60% of the household demand with clean renewable energy from the sun.
